Koo Chung still has some great music in him

Koo Chung's Kickstarter Campaign Video
It’s been seven years since Koo Chung has put out any new music. In the years since, he’s been through a lot: some joy, some pain, and everything else in between.

In any case, whatever life has thrown his way is sure to enhance the richness and soul of his next album. With that in mind, wouldn’t it be great if you could be a part of helping him relaunch his music career? After checking out his Kickstarter campaign, one can plainly see that the dude’s still got a lot of music left in him, and it would be a shame if that potential were put to waste.

Help fund his next album now.

Web Series – In Ya Face Presents: Far East Movement

Here’s an inspiring little web series that takes us behind the scenes of the LA-based hip-hop quartet Far East Movement. The series gives viewers a sneak peek into the group’s grueling tour schedule and some of the hurdles they’ve overcome on their way to international acclaim. The fact that it reveals the human side of their music makes this series great viewing for old and new fans alike.

Some quotes from the first episode:

While we were touring we were realizing that our songs were sticking, but people weren’t believing we were a real group… You have to make the connection between yourself and the songs.

Enjoy the web series. And if you’re a real fan of Far East Movement, help support them by buying their music legally:

Walking Dead – Season 3, Episode 13 “Arrow on the Doorpost”

With such tense negotiations taking place between Rick and The Governor, last night’s episode was more dialogue-driven than action-packed. Well, …except for this:

ABOUT THE FILM:
DON’T STOP BELIEVIN’: EVERYMAN’S JOURNEY

THEATRICAL RELEASE STARTS FRIDAY, MARCH 8 IN NY, LA & 15 other U.S. Cities

This is a film that transcends generations.  On one hand, this is a music-filled documentary for the post-YouTube, post-American Idol generation.  It is an aspirational, everyman’s rags-to-riches story set against the backdrop of some of the most anthemic songs of recent rock n’ roll history.  This generation may not necessarily know the provenance of the songs, but they know they’ve heard it somewhere before – at a ball game, as a soundtrack to a movie, TV show (i.e. Glee, The Sopranos) or a commercial, on their parents’ Ipod.  On the other hand, it is for their elders – their mothers and fathers and aunts and uncles – whose memories dance with the songs of Journey.

The film features band members, lead singer Arnel Pineda and original Journey members Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Ross Valory & Deen Castronovo.   DON’T STOP BELIEVIN’: EVERYMAN’S JOURNEY was directed and written by Ramona S. Diaz, and produced by Josh Green, Capella Fahoome and Ramona Diaz. Running Time: 105 minutes & unrated by the MPAA.  Distributor Cinedigm / Docurama Films will release the film on Friday, March 8 in New York City, Los Angeles/Orange County, Honolulu, Chicago, Boston, Washington DC, San Diego, Salt Lake City, Santa Fe NM, Richmond VA, Memphis TN, and March 15 in San Francisco, Guam &  Columbus OH, with other key cities to follow.  It will be available on VOD on Saturday, March 9.

WHAT THE MEDIA ARE SAYING:

“A cause for celebration! A kind of gentle applause that someone with talent has for once landed some kind of happy ending, that Filipinos are somehow inching forward in the vast American media landscape, conquering territory any way they can.” – Noel Vera, CriticAfterDark.com

NEW YORK MAGAZINE:  “One of the most remarkable rock stories of recent years!”

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS:  “Winning!  A film with a can’t-miss-Cinderella-hook, and a plot with cross-cultural resonance…made even sweeter by the charm of Arnel Pineda himself.”

VARIETY:   “Entertaining and impassioned!”

SCREEN COMMENT:  “Energetic, heartfelt and memorable.”

LOS ANGELES TIMES:  “Arnel Pineda’s tale stands out, even in the age of YouTube discoveries and ‘American-Idol’-fueled fame.”

HUFFINGTON POST:  “A wild ride.  You don’t have to be a Journey fan to enjoy this film. Arnel’s voice is pretty amazing, and he hits the stage like a jumping Jack, Mick Jagger times David Lee Roth. He’s a human pinball, caroming the stage.”
